Insect ecologist, interested in bioacoustics, ecoaustics and soundscape ecology. My current goal is to establish a baseline for insect acoustic monitoring. Amateur nature photographer and informatics enthusiast. I use R programming language packages as my main tool for analysis.
I finished my master's at David Gray's lab, CalState Northridge (go Matadors!), working in orthopterans acoustic community ecology in Santa Monica Mountains.
Before that, I completed my bachelor's thesis along with my mentor and colleague Orlando Acevedo-Charry at the National University of Colombia (proud Búho).Got into the world of enthomology by learning from German Amat-Garcia, great teacher and friend, working along with him and the Group of High Mountain Arthropods in the Matarredonda Paramo Project. Discovered the wondrous world of soundscape ecology at Purdue's Center for Global Soundscapes.
Eager to continue exploring the marvelous nature, open to collaborations.
